Transparent Suspension (Intimacy)

As a footwear designer my shoes are my canvas, pink in all its monochromatic shades, colour my creations adding romance and femininity to structures grounded in strength and solidity.

Surrounded by pink in my childhood, living in a barbie word, I couldn't say no to this opportunity.

Younger I wanted to design barbie dolls, it's only later that I discovered that I could make clothing and shoes in a bigger scale.

But Pink is not only a feminine colour it's so much more...

I will let you discover all of these in this amazing magazine.  Until them here are my concept of my pages in it.

Hope you enjoy as much as I did ...

XOXO,

Swann

The Pink Sindrom explores the complexity and brilliance of pink through the lens of five topics that we deeply associate with the colour—youth, naivety, euphoria, intimacy and artificiality—which we explore in 180 pages of conceptual, carefully-curated editorials, thought pieces and striking visual essays.

Our double lives expose our strengths and weaknesses, exposing discomfort through desire, exploring fragility and power.

Pink is reclaimed defining a 21stcentury attitude of the dichotomy of femininity. Expressing our inner most intimate emotions, creating an illusion of innocence in our complex times.

The eternal feminine issues of beauty and discomfort, romance and freedom, protection and weakness are visualised here as the sculpted shoe suspended in the air, packaged like gift wrap in cellophane foil.

We are living in transparent suspension, our world reflects both sides of femininity and feminism.

Standing firmly on curved blocks of wooden heels, we desire a nostalgic vision of beauty with a gentlewoman aspiration to float high above the everyday.

The art of the hand carved heel to heighten and support, and the gold trimmed edging and rose ribbon laced through mesh contort and constrain.

The faded nail polish painted on our invisible self, a heritage court rewired with mesh and wood, reminds us of the false impressions we create to achieve balance and harmony within our inner conflicts, desires and femininity.

This shoe was only made in 2 days as it was a 4 days collaboration:

1 day for sketchbook/ portfolio

2 days to make it.

1 days for photoshoot
